Why are Cowboys rookies in different locker room than veterans at The Star?

This year's group of Cowboys rookies are sharing a different experience than previous classes.

With this being the first full year at The Star, the rookies are not dressing in the main locker room with the veterans. They are in a smaller locker room nearby.

Much like having to earn the star on their helmets, they have to earn a spot in the main room.

"I think it's unique," rookie wide receiver Ryan Switzer said. "I don't know of anybody else who does it in the league. We were kind of the same way in college, we were all about earning the UNC emblem. We were all about earning your stripes. I enjoy that."

There aren't enough spaces in the locker room at The Star for 90 players. There weren't enough spots at Valley Ranch, either, so many players shared a single space. There's no sharing at The Star.

Reporters are not allowed in the rookie locker room. Someone from the public relations staff has to bring the rookies into the main room if media members want to conduct interviews with them.
